This Eid shows the true spirit of sharing and caring as people of all age groups from different walks of life are generously depositing Eid gifts for the earthquake survivors at the relief camps set up by various NGOs, philanthropist organisations and Jamaat Islami in the city.
"As Eid-ul-Fitr is round the corner, we are receiving more Eid gifts for injured children under treatment in different hospitals of the city," says Sehrish Khan, a volunteer at relief camp in Hussain Agahi Bazar. She added a large number of gifts are pouring in besides other relief items like blankets, quilts, warm clothes, tents etc.
Children are particularly in high spirit in donating Eid gifts to children of the quake-hit areas, says Abdul Sabbor of Pattan Organisation, He said that one could realise their deep affection towards ill-fated quake-stricken children through excellent packing of Eid gifts.
Tehniyat, (11) depositing a gift of doll at the donation center said "I am sending this gift to my sister who needs our help in this hard time" Habib-ullah, a 2nd class student said "I have taken my Eid money in advance to present gift to my injured brother in hospital".
